e-Development Conference 2011

The e-Development Conference 2011 was held on March 25, 2011, in the ceremonial hall of the Stari Grad Municipality in Belgrade, as the first annual professional business conference of the e-Development Association, marking the anniversary of its establishment. The event gathered around 300 participants and more than 20 media outlets, laying a strong foundation for the further development of this initiative.

The central theme of the conference was “Perspectives and Paths for the Further Development of the Information Society in the Republic of Serbia”, with the aim of reviewing the key directions of development and the potential of domestic ICT resources for competitive performance in the local, regional, and global markets.

More than 20 expert speakers took part in the conference, along with representatives of state institutions, business, education, and the media, who through different perspectives examined the role of information and communication technologies in improving governance, business operations, and the development of society as a whole.

A special segment of the program featured the screening of the documentary film “50 Years of Computing in Serbia”, which, through a historical overview of the development of the IT sector, further highlighted the importance of continuity and innovation in this field.

During the conference, key topics were opened that remain relevant even today – the development of eGovernment, Serbia’s Digital Agenda, the application of cloud technologies, as well as the need to strengthen education, innovation, and cooperation between the public and private sectors.

The e-Development Conference 2011 marked the beginning of a continuous dialogue on digital transformation and laid the foundations for future conferences that continued to bring together experts and leaders in the field of digital development.
